Blue Ridge Elite is Excited to Introduce our 2022 Coaching Staff

Robbie Coman – Director of Travel Travel Operations
Robbie is a native of West Palm Beach Florida where he was recruited to play baseball for UVA. Robbie played 5 years at UVA where he was a member of the 2014 & 2015 College World Series teams culminating in the 2015 National Championship. After graduating from UVA, Robbie played in the St Louis Cardinals organization. Robbie will oversee all Travel Operations and will also manage the BRE 14U Spring-Summer team.

Jason Beale – Director of Player Development
Jason is a Charlottesville native and the son of local baseball legend, Sammy Beale. Jason was the Virginia State Player of the Year at Western Albemarle High School where he still holds the records for Single Season Wins (11), Complete Games (11) and Strikeouts (119). After finishing his distinguished career at Western, Jason played collegiately at Virginia Tech where he shined as a starting pitcher. Jason transferred to Ferrum College for his last year where he was a two way All American. Jason served as the Pitching Coach at Western Albemarle High School and he is now an assistant coach and director of player development at St Anne’s Bellfield School. Jason will lead BRE’s player development program with a focus on both hitting and pitching.

Duke Fox – Chief Operating Officer
Duke is a Washington DC native who attended UVA. Duke has been deeply involved in the local youth baseball community since he arrived in Charlottesville in 2009. Duke is the former President of McIntire Little League and the Founder of the Charlottesville Sluggers travel program. Duke is now the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at St Anne’s Bellfield School. Duke will primarily be responsible for the Blue Ridge Elite operations allowing our coaches to focus their attention on the players.

Justin Byrd – BRE 13U Head Coach
Justin is a Bassett Virginia native with deep ties in the local youth baseball community. Justin played college baseball at Ferrum College before moving to Charlottesville. Justin is a board member with Peachtree baseball in Crozet. Justin has coached with multiple local travel organizations including the Peachtree Warriors and the Invaders. Justin is also the owner of Crozet Sports, LLC. Justin will manage the Blue Ridge Elite 13U travel team this Spring-Summer.
